Protecting star ratings against HD failure

Anybody have a good system to protect the star ratings against HD crashes.
I've used ratings migration in the past, but that doesn't do much good if the
HD crashes. I back up all my files via DVD, then I rate them after I listen
to them. If my HD crashes, then I do have the backup of all my songs on DVD,
but all my ratings will be gone. I have yet to figure out a way to avoid
this.

Hindsight being 20/20 I would have rated the songs first, then backed them
up to DVD. Therefore, the star ratings would have been saved with the songs.
No such luck though, and I don't want to redo 900+ cd's. Thanks for any

that question. Follow the instructions to backup your library database
files (not your media files).

If you later restore your media to the same drive letter and path after a
hard disk crash, you should be able to restore the library database files.
