Publishing Shared Devices in Active Directory Listing

I am running SBS W2k3, but have not been able to publish
any shares in active directory. For example, how do you
publish a shared device in active directory?

Although I specified a DvD drive and a printer should be
shared, given them names, and specified that they should
be published, they do not show up in Windows Explorer when
you expand "Entire Network" under either "Microsoft
Windows Network" or "Directory." For that matter, none of
the computers connected to the network are listed here,
either.

Any ideas why not?

How many nics in the server
What are they connected too.
What DNS address is assigned to both??
Is each nic in a different subnet??

 

Two NICs.

The local area router, IP address 192.168.16.9, is
connected to an external DSL router with address
192.168.16.1.

The server local area connector, IP address 192.168.0.9,
is connected to a local router.

Both are using subnet 255.255.255.0.

The server is acting as a DHCP.

Can you please post the complete ipconfig/all from the server and one from a
client?

 

What DNS address do you have on each nic and are you seeing and errors in
any of the event viewers??

 

Both NICS point only to 192.168.0.9 for DNS. The only
error in the DNS event viewer log is as follows:

"DNS server has updated its own host (A) records. In
order to ensure that its DS-integrated peer DNS servers
are able to replicate with this server, an attempt was
made to update them with the new records through dynamic
update. An error was encountered during this update, the
record data is the error code.

If this DNS server does not have any DS-integrated peers,
then this error
should be ignored."
