    Hello,

Windows Update for Windows ME (German) recently urged me
to install the Q329414: Sicherheitsupdate (MDAC 2.1). I
installed it successfully but it kept showing up even
    after several successful installations.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I couldn't
    find anything in other sources.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Andy,

I know this is no help, I ran accross your post today
looking for answers too. I have the same exact problem
but I run WIN 98. I sent a post to the windows update web
site to ask if it is a problem with the web site itself.

I get asked for installing the critical update for MDAC
2.1 and it is using the same security bulletin number you
have listed in your post. Strange indeed.

That's one theory...I had the patch installed. Installed MDAC 2.8 and now
Windows Update says I need the patch again. Windows Update history says
it's successfully installed 3 times!!! I assume this bug has been fixed in
2.8 so I am currently ignoring Windows Update for this patch as I had
similar problems when I installed MDAC 2.7.

Good man, in your case then the problem lies with Windows Update
scan script which will be changed to one that shows correct status
when they get around to it. You're right to ignore it, but as you
applied your MDAC updates offline (non-WU), chances are very high
that they 'took'. Not so with online, WU controlled updates
    all too often.
