I'm building a test environment for SBS 2003 Premium to replicate my
production environment. I've installed all of my patches, SP's and have run
the SBS BPA with no errors or discerning warnung messages. I'm trying to
access my OWA, companyweb and RWW externally. I know the two important
factors here are having the available ports open (which they are using ISA
2004 SP3) and my certificate. I have some questions regarding this. When I
attempt to access say companyweb externally I'll type ( xx= external IP of SBS server) and I'll get
the "There is a problem with this websites security certificate" defualt web
page. I can select the "Continue to this website (not recommended)" option
and it takes you to the install certificate wizard which you can do but then
you will get the "apge not found" web page.
My question is seeing how I don't have a registered domain name for my test
environment or a FQDN (which I do in my production environment) when I run
the certification wizard what is the proper information I need to input? I
currently used "servername.domain.local". Obviously this doesn't work. Or is
there something else I'm missing here?

You know I thought about that without attampting to try because I thought it
required a domain name. Can now access. thanks again.

Just another quick question Les. When accessing the companyweb homepage I
see I have my company's name in the header. I know how to change that and
already did. In RWW in the login box just above where it says Remote Web
Workplace it also has my company's name on it. because this is my teat
environment I do not want it or would like to change it. Where does it get
this information and where can I change it. thanks.

You can enter the [fixed] external IP address, that will work. Note that
ISA is particularly fussy, and you can *only* access the services using
the URL in the certificate, by default. If you need to also access them
from the LAN, either by local name or IP address, you need to add the
appropriate Public Names to the web listeners in ISA.

If you have a dynamic public IP address, then you need a domain name
from dyndns or similar, and then make the certificate match that.

    Hey Russ,
thanks for the input. I do have all of this running in my production
environment. This is my test environment and I don't want to go out and
obtain another domain name and register FQDN just for testing purposes. You
wouldn't happen to have an answer to my other question regarding the domain
nae on my test RWW homepage?
