I have a 4 year old Windows 2000 server that I will be replacing with a new
Windows 2003 R2 standard server. The old server is a DC and DNS server but I
also have another server that is a DC and DNS server also. The old server is
basically our file and print server. Here is what I was thinking, use the
Print Migrator Tool, demote the old server since its a dc and take it
offline, rename the new server so it matches the old server name, promote it
to dc, add DNS. Would that allow me to not have to redirect the printers
already setup on the user desktops?
