For those of you experiencing problems with TABBED BROWSING, there's a quick fix that should help you quickly find out what's going on with your browser. As always, this is beta software, so expect erratic behaviour even after this fix that solved my problem. Issue: tabbed browsing results in closure of IE7. Any new tabs openned will close the browser, and in some clients it will restart. Fix: TOOLS > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) > under the ADVANCED section
UNCHECK "Enable third-party browser extensions*"
Additional FIX: TOOLS > Internet Options > under GENERAL tab > TABS section
select SETTINGS > CHECK "Open home page for new tabs instead of blank page".
Save all settings. This will disable all non-IE browser extensions. This fix requires a restart of IE, so go ahead and restart it, and try out opening new tabs. This fixes a large amount of problems with tabbed browsing. Now if you absolutely must have these toolbars, then I suggest sticking with IE6 or another browser (Mozilla variants, etc). If you want to narrow down the problem, you can re-enable browser plugins one by one to find the offending file by going to TOOLS > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons. Once you find a problem-plugin(s), please post the offending dll's in this thread, as it will provide a quick resource for people to just disable the one plugin identified in this thread. This also helps MS identify problems they need to work with.
