R2 and DFS and Domain Controllers

We have about 8 domain controllers in various sites running Windows 2003
    Standard Edition.

We have already modified the AD schema to allow for support of R2.

Some of the smaller sites will initially have a combo file/print/DNS/DC
server that will need to run R2 to participate in our DFS replication and
namespace design. These same servers are currently/today just running Win2k3
    Standard SP1 (not R2 yet).

Question: Since all of our domain controllers are not running R2, but some
will need to be upgraded to R2, are there any known issues/caveats to our
running 'mixed' R2 and non-R2 domain controllers? (Again, note that the
schema has already been upgraded to support the new objects specific to
    R2/DFS).

    Thanks!

  2. Question: Since all of our domain controllers are not running R2, but

None at all. In fact that is a common setup. Branch office DCs replicating
back to corporate hub servers with DCs at the corporate site not even
participating in replication because they don't house user data.
