reassigning to groups

Discussion in 'Server Setup' started by cathy gonzalez, Jun 8, 2004.

  1. I am trying to move someone from the restricted groups to
the unrestricted groups temporarily so I can make
corrections on their machine. I have made it just so far
and can't finish. Anyone have the directions since our
    consultant kept our book

    Thanks

There usually aren't any particular books other than ones you can purchase
    separately.

You are probably referring to group policies.
You can find more info though this link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...r2003/technologies/management/gp/default.mspx

There are many restrictions that are possible. Maybe you can be more
specific on what you want to do.
The way it works is you can set up a group and apply policies to that group.
The only way to know is to look at that user account or computer account and
see what groups it belongs to. Making changes to the group it self will
    effect everyone in it.

An other option is possibly you can login to the machine as an admin and
    make the changes there.
