    Hi,

    1) How can I rebuild the default permissions on an NTFS volume? (some kind
of script method like using cacls.exe)

    2) Can I apply the same Windows XP ACL pattern in Windows 2000? (everyone
    restricted and so on ...)

    Thanks in advance

  2. Hi John,

Here is a list of default permission on Windows 2000

For Windows XP and Windows 2003 (not sure about Windows 2000) there are some
templates called security templates that you can use to reapply the
permissions on the drives... Template that you need to look for and reapply
    is "System root security (Rootsec.inf)"
