    Hey all,

This is now driving me nuts. This is happening from a local NBC channel
(Providence, RI) and must of started not long ago. I normaly record shows
like Law and Order (most of the different types but, only new episodes) ER
and some other assorted shows, as sometimes I get stuck working late.
Sometimes I watch them that night or sometimes 2 weeks later. Now I am
getting this problem, where it will record, between 3 and 40 min of the show
    and it will stop.

I checked the event log for media center, and I get an error of "Recording
of this content if prohibited by the provider". After looking though about 2
weeks of shows, it must of just started. Can anyone tell me how to prevent
or fix this ? How did this start ?

I have done a google search and have seen people having a problem playing
back protected content but, can't find anything on recording content like
    this.

I really like my MCE 2005 machine and most of all it does everything I want
and much more but, if this is how everything is going to work from now on, I
might as well dump it and go to a TIVO. My friend has a PVR from the cable
company, and never has a problem like this (I talked to him today asking if
    he had the same problem).

My girlfriend is going to kill me when she sees that she is going to miss 3
weeks of shows because of this.....

Is there a fix for this ?

    Help please !!!!!

    Thanks !

Did you install Rollup 2? If so, did this problem start
just after you installed that? A number of users have
had similar DRM problems since installing that update.

Some have been able to resolve the problem by updating
their TV tuner drivers. Others have been able to fix
    it by uninstalling Rollup 2.

I guess rollup 2 is gone, as of now...Let's see if this fixes the problem.
I'll post if I have the same problem again. Thanks

  4. Bob, I have the same problem, search this discussion for Law & Order and you
will find my postings under the "WARNING" thread. Like "Someone", it is the
    Providence, RI NBC affiliate.
