recovery console - how to install After Service 1 has been installed

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by David Sherman, Nov 9, 2006.

  1. How do I install the revovery console on a SBS server 2003 after I
    installed SP1?

    I can't use \i386\winnt32.ece /cmdcons.

    thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

From your description, I understand that you would like to install the
Recovery Console after applying the SBS SP1.

Actually, if we want to install Recovery Console after the server has been
upgraded to Windows Server 2003 SP1, we need to use the Windows Server 2003
    SP1 integrated CD.

If you would like to great your own SP1 slipstreamed copy of Windows Server
2003, please refer to the following MS articles:

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/library/WebW2

828930 How to integrate software updates into your Windows installation
    source
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=828930

After creating your own SP1 slipstreamed copy, you will be able to install
Recovery Console by running "winnt32 /cmdcons" from this Windows copy.
Please check into the following article to get detail steps to install the
    recovery console:

Hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any further
question on the issue. I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
    forward to your reply.
