Region error -- but it's the right region?!

    Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me out here. I just tried to play a region 1
    DVD on my windows media player, and I got the C00D1165 error, saying that I'm
    not allowed to play discs from this region. I've never changed the region on
    my player or computer, I am in the U.S., and have only ever watched U.S.
    DVDs. Any idea what may be causing this error and how to fix it? It's very
    frustrating! lol.
