I have a dedicated server with a big hosting company. Periodically I cannot
get into the server via Remote Desktop Client. When I log into the server, I
get to "Loading your personal settings..." but it hangs. I have let it stay
on that screen as long as 30 minutes without it changing.

The server is running Windows 2003 Server.

Rebooting the machine does fix the problem (for a time), but I'm trying to
keep the server up as much as possible. Can anyone help me diagnose this?

    Thanks,
    Dave M

    Dave:

It would appear to be a profile-related issue. Can you try using another
account to RDP into the server? If that works fine, then I would just delete
your profile and generate a new one, unless you really want to rip this
thing to apart and find the exact cause.

    Regards,
