Remote Web Workplace Unaccessable

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Mike Pomerleau, May 7, 2004.

  1. I've got two seperate SBS 2003 server domaine where only
mobile computers that are already Domain members can
access RWW. I sniffed the traffic and they are working
because they can resolve the .local domain name.
I need to be able to have a computer not in the SBS
domain connect via RWW to SBS, logon with and ID and then
download the SBS VPN Connection Manager. They can't
resolve the public SBS domain for RWW.
Is the only way to do this via a static Host file on the
    PC?

  2. Sounds like you need to create a Host record on your public DNS server to
resolve to the IP address of your RWW site. When run run the CEICW
(configure e-mail and internet connection wizard) make sure when you are
prompted for the certificate, you enter the public FQND of your site... ie.
    hostname.companyname.com.
