Removing \winnt\$NtUninstall* & \winnt\ServicePackFiles?

Discussion in 'Windows Update' started by Gaikokujin Kyofusho, Mar 2, 2004.

  1. Hi, I have an old machine with a 6 gig hard drive and w2k installed.
Space is really at a premium on this machine so i am trying to get rid
of all that i don't need on it (kilobytes count). I have done all the
most recent updates and made an image of the hard drive so i would
like to remove the uninstall directories in winnt and the
servicepackfiles directory. I just wanted to know if win is still
using them or will need them for anything other than uninstalling.
And if there are any other things that "typtically" aren't used/needed
that anyone knows of then i'd love to know! (Sorry comp novice here).

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    -Gaiko
