DFS links are pointing to shares on a Windows 2003 SP2 server. What happens
to the DFS links if the server is renamed?

Is Windows clever and renames the share path in the DFS links also?

Or are the DFS links now pointing into nothing and I have to recreate all
    DFS links again?

    Thanks for help.

I have always had to add the new location into the folder targets and then
delete the old one. This can also be a bear with replication since it will
have to re-establish and do an initial replication to the new location. You
can try to change the DNS entry for the old server and make its IP address
the same as your new server so basically both server names point to the same
    IP address. Just a thought.
