Reverse Lookup on a local HOST file

    The local HOST file is used to map an IP address to host...How would I
    create a reverse lookup file...? Thank you...

    More accurately, the local HOST file is used
    to map host to an IP address, not the other way.
    Host file is remnamt of days before DNS and
    has some remaining usefulness, but it is one way.

    You cannot.

    You need to use a reverse DNS zone or zones.

    BTW: Most people don't even need reverse zones.

    And ftp'ing the master host file from UCB was an invention
    that the fledgling Unix also adopted (and "aped" every since).
