I had been ripping in MP3 format and now it is no longer an option on the Rip
Music tab. I tried to update the player but it says I have the most current
version. The registry has no entries under MP#Encoding except Default. Any
ideas on how to get MP3 back into my player?

What version of WMP are you referring to? I believe generally you would
need to reinstall to restore that.

Does reinstalling fix this for you? If not, you would need to manually set
6 registry values if you wanted this to work....

How in the world did this go away for you? That's really strange.

I reinstalled and it's back. I have no idea where it went to begin with, but
it's not the first time that has happened. Last time it was probably because
I was messing in the registry to fix a sound problem. This time I don't
recall doing anything except maybe deleting the MP10 updates with Add/Remove
programs. Thank you for your help!

When you reinstalled did you have to uninstall Media Player 10 first? I am
having the same problem. No MP-3 as a ripping option.
