Root folder/target in DFS??

Discussion in 'Windows Server' started by WetBehindEars, Jul 31, 2007.

  1. I have setup a root folder on DC1. Do I want to setup a root target to point
to the other server I want to run DFS with or do I just keep the root on DC1
and then create links with like targets to the two places (DC1 and the
    secondary server)?

Well, if you want to have a failover on your DFS, you will need to setup
another DFS Root on another server but it's not necessary.
