    I've lost,misplaced, or whatever my router's password.
Is there any way to recover it?

I know it's on my computer. I know it's stored in the registry.
But, MS encripts it before storage.
One would think that someone at MS would have realized
that someone somewhere might want to recover their password
and have provided a way to do so !

So, does anyone out there know how I could recover the router
    passwod??

    Thanks for any help.

    RTFM

Reset the router. Then change from the default password.

It's been five years since I installed the router and I have no
records of how that's done. Please describe the process
for me. I know how to reset the router --- it's how I proceed from
there that I've forgotten. As I recall, I take my laptop to the router
and connect it via ethernet to the router --- then ??????

So do you want me to give vague instructions on an unknown brand and
model of router. You want that here or over in the XP newsgroups to
    which you MULTI-posted?

Your new router that you claimed to have bought a couple weeks ago
because you couldn't figure out this same procedure didn't come with
instructions (on paper or a file on disc)?
