Running apps that require Admin Rights

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Workwithcisco, Jun 14, 2005.

  1. I Just started using the new Domain for users to login to and ran into an
issue. The UPS software will only run under a user with full admin rights.
How can I have a user without full rights run this program?

If its a work sattion install it under THE admin account, that way it will
still run all other times. You may see a question ask is the program for you
or everyone. Id try you (admin) first. Log on as the user see if it runs. If
it runs they prob. will not be able to play with the settings. Good thing?

    Hi Clark,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

From your description, I understand you cannot run the UPS software using
normal user account. If I have misunderstood your concerns, please do not
    hesitate to let me know.

As I know, we can use "run as" command but we cannot change the
application's requirement if it needs the administrative user account. You
may need to contact vendor of the UPS to see if there is a possible
    solution.

Hope the information help and I look forward to your reply.

    Best regards,
