RWW unable to remotely connect to Wrkstn or Srvr

    Hello all,

Could really use some help with this:
Have enabled RWW and followed the CEICW config for RWW.
OWA works fine from anywhere using FQDN.
I get to RWW page and on trying to access either Client or
server desktops I get a VBScript error:
The client could not connect to the remote computer.
Remote connections may not be enabled or the computer
    might be too busy etc..."
Now the SBS network is behind a Watchguard firewall and is
    NAT'ed. I have allowed 443 and 444 for https in, also 4125
(in and out) and 3389(not sure that this one was
necessary). I can access the server desktop from a
    workstation within the SBS network.
With the XP client machine that I am trying to access, I
have enabled remote connections and ensured that the
username I am using has correct remote access rights to
    local machine.
Sniffing my remote system on trying the connect to
Workstation desktop shows three 4125tcp SYN packets but no
ACK's coming back. My firewall log shows them going to
correct Internet address for SBS network.
SBS network Watchguard firewall logs show them being
forwarded correctly to the SBS server.
    AND there it ends.
I can only suppose that the server is rejecting them: ISA??
Do I need to configure a specfic policy for 4125? I had
assumed that CEICW would have done this.
Any further troubleshooting pointers would be greatly
    appreciated.
    Am I missing something?

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Mark Lawson

You said you can access the server desktop from a workstation within your network, but RWW lets you access your internal desktop machine that are running Windows
XP Pro. Can you access one of the XP Pro machines from another XP Pro machine using Remote Desktop? Can you do it from the server?

    Hi Matt,

I can confirm access any of the XP Pro machines from
another XP Pro machine using Remote Desktop. Also
possible from the server to control the client machines.

    Would appreciate reply,

    regards

  4. Can you access the xp client from the server through the RWW?

If so, then there might be an issue with the firewall.

Can you please explain your network topology again? You mentioned
Watchguard as a firewall and also ISA?
    Please elaborate.
