RWW via AT&T Netopia DSL Router Switch.

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Frank K(Antioch IL), Apr 14, 2008.

  1. I can access RWW from servers/desktops plugged into the AT&T Netopia DSL
Router Switch ports but I cannot access from the Internet. I cannot even
access/ping successfully the IP address of the AT&T Netopia DSL Router from
    the Internet.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

  2. Many DSL routers do not respond to pings from the outside. That's a red
    herring.

Assuming you have administrative control over the router, it sounds like
there's no port forwarding/server publishing configured. The standard set
of minimal ports needed for full SBS operations are: 25 (SMTP), 80 & 443
(HTTP & HTTPS), and 4125 (RDP Proxy for RWW). If you can educate users to
use https connections to RWW in the first place, you can skip 80 (SBS
auto-redirects RWW requests from http to https).
