Weird Salt and Pepper Bug in IE8 fixed by uninstalling* IE8 and using IE7
    instead.

I called this the Salt and Pepper Bug because
IE8 could display web pages from certain sites
    but not from others.

For exapmle, on the Wikipedia site,
on my PC, IE8 would display correctly
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper
    but could not display
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt

It would try to download the salt page (!).
    i;e. Not display it.

    Details here.

    All fixed now.
Maybe I will "upgrade" to IE8 and see if the Salt and Pepper Bug comes back.

    Hi,

I hope that some of the IE files are corrupted. To resolve the issue, I
recommend reregistering them. Download and run the .BAT file from the
    following link:

    http://www.ietips.net/downloads/reregister_ie.zip

    However, ensure that:

    1. No IE window is open while executing this BAT file.
    2. You had created a system restore point (Start, Run, MSCONFIG, Click
System Restore.) Create a restore point, so that if some issue happens, you
    can always go back.

Hope this will resolve the issue.

    Rgds,
    Raghu
