[SBS 2000 Prem] Publish IIS with dynamic IP-Address

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Charlie Blank, Nov 7, 2004.

  1. Hi,
I was so far unsuccessful in finding the solution to my challenge:

I am connecting my SBS 2000 (with IIS/ISA/Exchange on one box) to the
internet via PPPOE and get on every dialin a new public IP which is getting
    automatically DNS-registered via dyndns.org.
The challenge now is to publish my IIS. I thought there is a way to do
that - and I am partially successfull:

    - if I am binding the IIS to the currently assigned external IP, I can
successfully access the Web/FTP from external (there is no need for me to
    have the web available internally).

    - as soon as I am getting a new external IP-Address - I can't connect to the
Web any longer -- until I am changing the binding of the IIS to the newly
    assigned internet-address.

Is there anybody out there who has a solution (or script, that automatically
changes the IIS bind to the new IP-Address?) to this scenario?

    Thank you!
    Charlie
