SBS 2003 - Cant acsess mail remotely via pop3

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Jamal Mubarik, Apr 22, 2004.

  1. Hi:

We have Premium Edition of SBS 2003. Out Users cannot
access email via outlook reotely. They are configured as
pop3 clients. The message we get when using Test Setting
in the email account setup menu is the "The sever was
found" and to check our SSl and port settings. We are
using ISA in this server. Please help.

    Thanks

  2. I strongly suggest you use RPC over HTTP... much better than a POP3 client.
Having said that, have you opened port 110 (inbound) in your server (and/or
a router in front of SBS)?

From anywhere in the intenet (outside your lan) can you "Telnet x.x.x.x 110"
and get a response from Exchange (where x.x.x.x is the public IP of your
    server)?
