    Hello!

    I ran the SBS BPA prior to tomorrow's update to SP2 on a client's SBS 2003
    SP1 server. It flags the SBSMONITORING instance as needing SQL SP4.

    The exact error is:

    SBSMONITORING instance does not use SQL Server 2000 SP4
    The SBSMONITORING instance should use the latest available service pack for
    Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

    I found this post in a Google search
    http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive...blic.windows.server.sbs/2005-09/msg03294.html
    and downloaded the SP4 file, ran it, then ran the command from that post as
    follows (all on one line).

    Setup /upgradesp sqlrun BLANKSAPWD=1 INSTANCENAME=SBSMonitoring
    DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=1 /L*v "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
    Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003\Logs\Monitoring_MSDE.Log"
    REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn

    This dialog box pops up: "Please go to the Control Panel to install and
    configure components."

    How does one go about installing the SQL SP4 on the SBSMONITORING MSDE
    instance?

    Thank you for your help!

    I shall Google 'til my brain stops!

    P.S. I have all the other post-SP2 issue articles and the latest NIC drivers
    to install before SP2. In case it matters, it's a Dell PE 2800 with
    Dell-installed SBS (never again!)

    Wow. The "Duh" factor bites me again. I was only in the C:\SQL2KSP4 folder
    and not the MSDE subfolder when I ran the command. I'll go try again.

    Well, it's simply amazing how typing a command IN THE RIGHT PLACE works so
    well.

    I think I have embarrassed myself enough for one night!

    Les,

    Do you know where I can find that "retract that last embarrassing post"
    button in OE?

    Dang, I really miss the ability to go back in time!
