SBS built-in GPOs question

In SBS2003 there are some built in group policies and I don't understand
which ones take presedence. I can configure the same things in any of the
different built in group policies. For example, I can configure the windows
firewall in any and all of the built-in GPOs. I don't understand which ones
I should be using for things like firewall settings and windows updates
setting. What happens if I configure a setting, let say the "configure
automatic updates" setting differently in two different GPOs?

I have a book by William Stanek on Windows Server 2003, but there are just
too many differences between it and SBS2003. Can anyone recommend a good
    book on SBS2003?
