I am running Small Business Server 2003 Premium.

I have had Monitoring and Reporting features installed and working for
several months now. For some reason it just stopped working.

    Problems:
    - I stopped receiving performance reports and summaries.
    - I am unable to access Monitoring & Reporting from the Server management
console. When I access it, the page doesn't load. After a long while, it
    says page cannot be displayed.
    - When I click on Set Up Monitoring Reports and Alerts, I get the following
    error:

"The wizard encountered an error while configuring the mointoring features.
Run Small Business Server Setup, reinstall the Server Tools component, and
then run the Monitoring Configuration Wizard again."

When I try to Run Small Business Server Setup, I get this error on the
Requirements page: SQL Server 2000 needs SP3 for Windows Server 2003
    compatability.

I have checked all my instances of SQL and they all say they are SP4. I
have act installed on this server as well. Enterprise manager can not log on
to this instance to check the version. So I uninstalled it. Even so, SBS
Setup still will not let me passed the Requirements page.

    What should I do?

    Hi Julius,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

From your problem description, I understand this issue to be: you have some
problem regarding Monitoring and Reporting component and when you run the
SBS 2003 Setup it fails due to the SQL version does not meet the
requirement. If I have misunderstood your concerns, please do not hesitate
    to let me know.

As on my research result, during the upgrading process, the SBS server is
looking for the Version: 8.00.760 or higher within the registry for SQL. If
you have SQL SP4 installed, the version should be 8.00.2039. Currently, I
would suggest you check the version of the SQL via the following registry
    key.

    1. On the SBS server, open registry editor (regedit.exe).
    2. In the registry Editor go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion

I checked the registry settings as you suggested. For some reason, the
versions in the registry repor that all the sql instances that come with
    sbs2003 are version 8.00.194 RTM,
is this possible? This is strange because enterprise manager reports the
servers as being 8.00.2039 SP4. Do i simply need to change the
CurrenVersion key to the correct version number?

    Thanks,
    Julius

    Hi Julius,

    Thanks for your update.

You should check the CSDVersion value but not CurrentVersion when you go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion
. The CurrentVersion value is 8.00.194.

I also find my previous reply has not been posted completely. I include my
reply as following for your reference:
