I have a screen saver policy that is password protected and only works when
link to the domain. The environment is a W2K3 SP2 and clients are XP SP2.
All critical patches at the server and workstations are all up to date.

OU1 computers are supposed to have a password protected screen saver.
OU2 computers with screen saver but no password.

I have recreated the OU, check the RSoP for OU1 even down to a specific
workstation. The results show that the screen saver with password is applied
but when I login to the workstation, the screen saver password is disabled
    and available for user setting.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

  2. The screensaver is a per-user thing. So, if you're applying this GPO to an
OU that doesn't contain any users, there's your problem.

Take a look at your OU hierarchy....and if you need different computers to
have different settings, no matter which user logs into them, look into
loopback processing for the specific GPOs.

Try posting in microsoft.public.windows.group_policy for more help.

Thanks for your help...I was testing it earlier on the User's OU but did not
realize that my account was not in the User's OU. The Policy works by
applying it to the User's OU as stated. Thanks.
