From the start menu, click on my computer, then open local disk C, go to
program files, select the windows live folder and right click and delete. No
    more problems.

I uninstalled everything even remotely tied to windows live and it seems the
pop up is gone. Hopefully this trend continues. So if you're willing to
live without windows live, there's one solution. Worked for me X-P

    Hi There,

The easiest way of removing the search pack/or seport file. Is to reboot to
safe mode, (hold down F8 while rebooting choose safe mode) when computer has
rebooted into safe mode, open C goto program files, goto the Microsoft folder
& delete it (there is only the search pack in it). reboot the computer, Job
    done.

Other ways of getting rid of unwanted progs is to put your computer back to
the system settings from a few days earlier, prior to the problem, this tends
to work with the majority of malware, you may have to update a few items that
had automatically updated over that period, but it will not affect anything
else, just the system files & programs that where linstalled over that
period, or if the problem had occured from updating windows, do that again,
avoiding the prog that caused the prob in first place, but this saves a lot
of time & trouble in the long run.
