Discussion in 'Windows Update' started by ArtBuildingManager, Sep 14, 2007.

  1. I have downloaded this update 2x and restarted my computer. Each time I
restart, it tells me this update needs to be downloaded and installed.

How do I check to see if It acutally worked. and if it did....how do I
    delete it from popping up?

    thanks much for any assistance

Having similar problems but after contacting support and following all their
instructions I still have a problem. Now it seems the windows installer is
    refusing to
install the program saying the patch is not a valid file and could not be
    opened.
Contact the vendor for support! There is a cleanup tool called msicuu2.exe
    that
will clean up the installer but it does not help this problem.

I have been having this problem for about 3 months on 2 different computers.
Why doesn't Microsoft provide an answer?

  5. Have you contacted Microsoft?

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
    https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527

    Support for Windows Update:
    http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB123456).

If your problem relates to a Cumulative Security Update for IE, call the
above number and ask to be transferred to the Consumer IE7 queue (which is
    47830).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
    site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
    your usual support contacts.
