Is this possible? The second domain controller (warm server) will be in a
remote office linked by a VPN. It will be the global catalog server for the
SBS domain and will host a second Exchange server using recovery storage
groups. The idea is to perform nightly disk based backups of data and the
information store which would be taken to the remote office and restored to
    the warm server.

Can't think of a reason this wouldn't work, but you would require second
licenses for Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003.

  3. But not CALs for Server, and not CALs for Exchange under R2. Otherwise, I
don't see any technical reason why not.

I'm talking about a SBS 2003 domain, you guys understand that, right?

  5. yes. You can't have a second SBS domain controller. But you can certainly
have a second Server 2k3 DC in the domain, and a second Exchange as well.
