Security control about a shared folder

    I have a shared folder with total control permission. Is it possible to know
    if a user delete or modified a file in this folder from a workstatios. The
    folder is map in the unit I:. What happen whit the deleted file? Is it in the
    recycle basket?, or is it eliminited with out leaving track? I need if is
    possible to know what file was eliminated if happen, the hour of the change,
    and the user.

    Hello kaos,

    You have to enable auditing of this folder under the advanced security options.
    If it is a share, the deleted file does NOT move to the recycle bin. It will
    be really deleted. The auditing entry should give you the information you
    need.
