    Hi Jethro,

Nudges are still present - 3rd icon along in a convo box. (Emoticons, Winks,
    Nudge)

Which version of Messenger are you using?

  4. Greetings,

    The online help is useless.

Either you're using the wrong version (like Windows Messenger instead of Live Messenger,
although the interface is completely different) or you have the toolbar hidden that has this
    button.

You can check the status of the toolbar by opening up a conversation window, pressing Alt on
the keyboard, choose Tools, then Show toolbars, and make sure that Formatting is checked.

Alternatively, you can trigger a nudge in a conversation by pressing Alt-N on the keyboard.

I've used it before from the 'action' menu - but now it only allows 'wink' -
can you see it on the action menu?

I feel sure the nudge feature has been withdrawn

you may need to re-install WLM or something or someone has disabled nudges
or a patch has disabled it

    Dear Sirs,
For the past couple of days I have lost my "Nudge" facility or button on my Live Hotmail. I wondered if I had accidently deleted it, so I have been looking for a way to download it (again. ) However, looking up on the web under Windows Live Hotmail NUdge, etc, I see forums galore on Lack of Nudges, and cases similiar to mine. I have lost my nudge totally, and cannot nudge any one but they can nudge me. ",Nudging" for the uninitiated, is a button that gently brings attention to their friend online that you want to chat to them, it is similar to ringing their doorbell if you like. Anyhow, I really miss it!! Yes, Nudge still exists out there, my friends have it.
Please reinstate the Nudge. It's a useful piece of kit.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Bubblebat

I have also lost my "nudge" facility on Windows Live Messenger. I have also
lost the "files, videos" etc that was at the the top of the page. I have
tried reloading WLM etc but to no avail. Is there anybody out there that
knows how to remedy this problem ??

  10. Greetings Clive,

It's probably jut been turned off. You can turn it back on by opening up any conversation
window, pressing the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choose Tools, then
Show Toolbars and click any of the options that aren't checked to make it appear.

I just upgraded to the newest version of Windows Live. With this upgrade, I lost my ability to nudge and wink. These abilities can be found under actions in the conversation window, but you can't click them. I can receive winks and nudges, but I would really like to be able to send them again.

    :( Can you help me?

I believe it has to do with whether the recipient has allowed nudges. I have some conversations where the nudge appears at the bottom of the window, but others where it does not.

There is a setting under Options->Messages that indicates whether you will accept nudges if they are sent. If the person you are trying to nudge doesn't have this checked, the nudge icon doesn't appear in that conversation window.

If you get the recipient to turn it on, you should be able to send them a nudge.
