Send email from a distro group

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Tristan Leask, Aug 18, 2004.

  1. Hi all,

I have a distribution group that catches email to . Now i
want users of my SBS to be able to send email from . At the
moment, if i display the from field in outlook and enter in ,
when i send the message i get an email back from the system administrator
    saying that...

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance,
    contact your system administrator.

Can i send an email from that address?

    Cheers,

    Tristan

  3. Okay, i have now got the security tab. I added my username to the
permissions and then basically ticked all the boxes for 'allow'. I then did
a test mail to see if that worked, but it didn't. Would i have to allow a
grace period for it to update, or say re login with my user?

    Cheers

  5. In theory as the object is a group, when setting the send as security, would
i just be able to set the 'send as' on the 'self' object, thus allowing only
memebers of that group to send email from that distro?

    Cheers for the help,

    Tristan

  6. This should work, then the group needs to be a security group but then it
    should work.

    Kay Sellenrode
    just test it
