Sending email to any Bellsouth.net Email addresses

  1. I am watching the Exchange Queue and all emails are going out except those
with bellsouth.net domains. I try to force them and that does not work. The
just sit there with the blue retry arrow. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Allen

Do you use DNS to route the emails or a smart host. I'm thinking that your
IP address could be in a blocked list that BellSouth is using.

  3. I use DNS to route emails. I been to spamhaus.org and my ip is not on the
list. Is there any other ones I need to check.

A client's email to BellSouth was being blocked last week. The client's ip
was not on any list I could find. Eventually I sent BellSouth/AT&T an email
from their website requesting they unblock the client ip. I got back an
automated email saying it would be unblocked in a day or two. I saw similar
posts searching on google. I wonder if BellSouth/AT&T's new filter is to not
accept mail from anyone until the sender specifically requests their IP be
unblocked? I never got any explanation of why the client was blocked.

Unfortunately, I have found this to be an ongoing issue with BellSouth mail
servers for a couple of years now.
Bellsouth is my ISP. Blacklisting has never been a problem. I have seen mail
to bellsouth.net recipients sit in my outgoing queue for as long as 36 hours,
although it is usually delivered in a couple of hours.

Very hit or miss as to when / how often it happens. They keep blaming it on
the ongoing transition due to the AT&T merger. Convenient excuse. It was
happening well before the merger. This issue is the reason I deliver mail via
DNS opposed to smart host. Bellsouth was taking way too long to deliver my
    mail.

Sorry, I know it's not a solution. However, my money would be on the problem
being on their end, not yours. Hopefully that will give you some solace.
