Server updated automatically when not set to automatically update?

    Something weird happened this morning. Updates were installed
    automatically when the server is set to download updates but let me
    choose when to install them. I only found out when I got calls that
    Exchange Server was not working. I checked the logs and Exchange was
    stopped because a Exchange 2003 security update installed and it
    stopped the Exchange related services.

    Has anyone seen anything like this happen?

  2. On your SBS, go to CP -> Automatic Updates. If the policies are being set
    correctly by group policy, you should be able to see them but not edit. The
    radio button should be clicked for download and let me choose when to
    install. Is that what you're seeing?

    I've never heard of an update installing in violation of the group policy.
    Are you sure another admin didn't authorize the install?

    It's set to download and let me choose when to install, but it's not
    set by group policy, so it can be edited.
    The employee at the company claims he didn't authorize the install
    which is why I posted the question here.
