Using JavaService, a Java program may become a Windows Service. Our service
has previously been correctly installed and has functioned perfectly. The
service was uninstalled, a JAR was added to the classpath in the parameters,
and the service was reinstalled. The Java program runs fine when launched
from the command line, but it will not start as a Windows Service.

    Error Message:
! The <service_name> service on Local Computer started and then stopped.
Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example,
the Performance Logs and Alerts service.

From that start attempt, there is an error in the Application Log:

    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: <service_name>
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4096
    Date: 11/7/2006
    Time: 2:11:39 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: <server_name>
Could not create a FileOutputStream for redirect of

(redirect of what, it does not say!)

Any ideas of how to fix or to troubleshoot this, anyone?

It turned out to be a problem with a filepath in a JavaService.exe
    Additional info is here:
