I've been asked to set to a few machines in my AD environment to be staight
up GMT time versus our local time zone which is (GMT-8:00) Pacific Time. I
have my PDC emulator set to local time, but they need this client machines
set to GMT due to some processes and log files that are dependent on GMT.

First of all, can I even do that? If can, what are the drawbacks? If I do
change them, will they resync themselves back to the local time zone when the
contact the authoritative time server in the domain? I was thinking of
setting these select few machines to sync to their local BIOS clock, but not
    sure if it'll break anything.

you can simply change the time zone, your server does not know where they
are. granting there is no time skew. your logs will simply translate to the
    time where they are accessed.
