  1. I congratulate you on your intelligence.. you are in the 1% of this
    newsgroup that understands anything about
    computers!

I cannot agree with you more.. you are saying the same complaints I have
    had...

But since people in here have the intelligence of the wart on a frog, you
    will be called a troll,
or that you dont like change, or to go use linux.. etc... same ol things
    again and again...

  2. another stupid MVP! You all seem to be created from the same original clone!

Hey buster let this get into your small brain good: VISTA, IE7, WMP11 and
    OFFICE2007 GUI design stinks,
its not because its changed, its because the change is BAD, so bad it is
    revolting!

Personally, I like the new UI. Of course, it's different from previous IEs
and the competition. It's more streamlined, less cluttered and gives you more
    desktop real estate.

As someone who's being using IE since version 4, I admit I did give up on IE
and switch to FireFox earlier this year as I felt IE was very stale and
didin't offer what the competion did. This new version, although not perfect,
is certainly a major step in the right direction.

You seem to be thinking that those who feel the user interface has
significant faults represent a tiny minority of people. That is simply
not the case, and in fact it is pretty much backwards. Don't let the
dismissive remarks by a handfull or two of vocal or high profile
individuals bother you. Even many of them realize, either just below
the surface or deep down in their heart, that many of the criticisms
are reasonable and particularly in terms of customizability the new
IE user interface falls far short of where it should be. They just
don't want to publically admit it or focus too much on it.

Mercifully, it is possible, in Vista, to revert to the classic Start menu,
and even the classic Windows 98 look...thank God customization isn't
    completely dead at Microsoft.

However, considering Microsoft's ridiculous licensing terms for Vista (the
home versions can only be transferred to one other "licensed device" for the
life of the registration key), I'm not biting. I'll stick with Windows XP as
long as possible, and will think twice before recommending a Microsoft
    product to anyone, ever again.

  6. How can you say that (MS says that too but it is not true).
    Compare: http://home.chello.no/~larse/IE7layout.jpg

If it had been true I would love it, but on my screen I get LESS space
for the web-page with IE7. IE6 gave me more (Firefox in between them)

and finally i'll add my last thoughts on this:

why not have a great big dog that you animate on the screen everytime i fire
up ie7. this dog will asks me questions like - hey what do you want to find?

when the dog finds something it makes a huge paperclip fly down on the
screen and unwrap a document which actually is the html page. then this
wizard character with a big pointy hat floats onto the screen and starts
trying to climb out of the screen cos he hates the dog and the paperclip too.
but he has been programmed to stay forever in the screen and he can't get
out and he can't be switched off. he's royally screwed and then a big light
bulb pops up over his hread as he realises - it's ok - this is change for the
better - this is good - this is a happy world - the dog, the paperclip, the
wizrd, they make you feel good - they bring joy and smiles to people - they
    are the FUTURE!
