sharepoint and Co web issues

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by ben robertson, Mar 1, 2004.

  1. This may two seperate issues but i feel it is probably
    related.

1 - the link to "my company's Internal web site" on the
default web site causes an error "e page you are looking
for is currently unavailable.....bla bla bla bleh blea
    blea"

(i thought it would pop a log and PW request or something)

I can get to via RWW>>Administer the company's internal
Web site>>HOME which seems verry covoluted and dont really
want staff stomping through admin stuff they dont need to
    see
    be
2 - i have tried to add some html pages to the compay web
site via the directories indicated in iis and they are not
accesable when you point a link to it from the company web
page "Links section" links to share points or external web
site such as google etc work, however when i try to link
to html on the domain it does not function.(i have tried
putting the html in several locarions including \wwwroot
    and \companyweb

3 - i can access the server remotly via an ftp client,
however when tring to connect to it via fronpage 2003
using ftp option or the sharepoint server option,
frontpage gives me no joy, all my web authoring and
development production tools are external to the sbs
server and i need to edit the companyweb beyond what ie
    available via the administration.

any help on this/these issues would be greatly appreciated.
