Sharepoint Internal Website Problem

  1. I just installed Windows Small Business Server 2003. I was able to complete
    portions of the to do checklist during the post installation setup. I opened
    the http://companyweb/default.aspx at one point and I was able to locate the
    page. After a couple reboots and adding some users to the domain, I opened IE
    again to find that it would only go the http://companyweb/ . Onthat page it
    has four links, "My Internal Company Website" "Manage or Add Users" "Remote
    Web Workplace" and one other I can't remember now ( I am at home and not at
    the office). I do however have SBS installed at home; when I go to just
    http://companyweb/ it resolves to http://companyweb/default.aspx, not the
    page I am describing above. If I try to go to http://companyweb/default.aspx
    I receive the error "An error has occurred in (/), the requested resource is
    not availabe". It also goes on to say that http://companyweb/default.aspx is
    not available as well. I had the exact verbage of this error and I researched
    the web for a solution. I did find an error that was close, but it delat with
    access denied errors that relate to temporary .net (asp.net) files in the
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Businees
    Server\Microsoft.Net\v.1.1.4322\, but the funny thing is that my setup at
    home is almost the same as the office and I don't even have a closely named
    drectory like that on my server. Anyways, I granted full permissions to all
    domain users to that directory. No luck. I then used add/remove programs and
    re-ran the installation of the Intranet componnent of the Small Business
    Server setup. No luck there either.... Please help, I can supply more info if
    needed.

    From your description, I understand the issue to be: when you tried to
    access the default web site, you received error message "An error has
    occurred in (/), the requested resource is not available". If I am off
    base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    From your described web site, there are four links on the homepage, it is
    default web site. We should access it using URL such as: http://localhost
    not the URL: http://companyweb. If we use the URL: http://companyweb, we
    will directly access the Companyweb homepage.

    To the Companyweb site issue, please try to access it using
    URL:http://127.0.0.1 and let me know the result.

    After build up the SBS server box, have you run CEICW to configure network
    connection? Please re-run the CEICW to see if it helps. It is recommended
    that you refer to the following article to configure network.

    Then please test the issue again to see if the issue is resolved.

    If the issue persists, please help me collect some information to isolate
    the issue:

    1. What is the exact error message you received when you tried to access
    the Companyweb site? Also please help me capture some screen shots of the
    error message.

    2. Please enable IIS logging and reproduced the issue (access the
    Companyweb site using localhost and IP address) and collect IIS log for
    analyze.

    To enable IIS log:

    a. Open IIS MMC, right click Default Web Site and then click Properties.
    b. Click Website tab and then check Enable logging.
    c. Stop the Default Website and rename the existing IIS log files under
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles.
    d. Restart the Default Website and try to reproduce the problem.
    e. Wait about 15 minutes, then go to the following folder:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles and send them to me.

    Note: please let me know your SBS server IP address.
