I have an SBS 2003 server onto which I have installed Window Sharepoint
Services 3.0. I carried out this install as per the Microsoft notes here:

So I have a Sharepoint 2.0 site sitting alongside a new Sharepoint 3.0 site.

There is a new Sharepoint 3.0 Template that I would like to use in order to
create a new section on the Sharepoint 3.0 website. However, before doing
this I am instructed by Microsoft to install the Windows Sharepoint Servies
3.0 Application Template: Application Template Core. The page for this is

This seems ok ..... BUT before I do this I'm a little concerned that the
installation notes do not taken into account the fact that I have TWO
sharepoint sites running at the same time. I'm supposed to run the stsadm
command to install this core and I'm worried that this will have some impact
on the sharepoint 2.0 site (which is in use on a daily basis).

Any ideas or advice on this one - or someone with similar experience - will
    be greatly appreciated.

    You must run stsadm.exe from the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\bin" directory. This is for WSS 3.0. It
won't affect the WSS 2.0 installation. For information purposes, the
stsadm.exe for WSS 2.0 is under the "....\60\bin" directory
