    Hi all,

I introduced the new Win2K3 DCs to win2K environment and transfer all FSMO
roles to Win2K3 DCs. I am about to demote the win2K DCs. I am going to
install exchange 2003 servers and switch exch2K to exch2K3 (btw, exchange
forestprep and domainprep have been done already). The question is when (the
    best) should I demote the Win2K DCs? 1)after remove exch2K 2) before
    introducing exch2K3 3)after introducing exch2K3 before remove exch2K?...

Please advise. Will I have problem to remove Exch2K if I demote Win2K DCs
    before removing Exch2K?

    THANK YOU!

  2. If Exchange is installed on a DC, you must move Exchange first. If you
demote the DC when Exchange is installed you will be in an unsupported
    configuration.

If Exchange is NOT installed on DCs, and is simply installed on your member
servers it doesn't matter at all. Just ensure that DSAccess isn't manually
configured to use one of the old DCs.

  4. If Exchange is installed on a DC, you must move Exchange first. If you
I believe that is only for e2k3 and not for e2k
