Due to the critically severe flaw and code vulnerabilty of the most recent
update and patch to WMP , should we disable WMP until it becomes safe to use
?I am concerned due to the extent that WMP is incorporated into our daily
online computing experience.I am running XP Pro with auto-update
invoked.Norton System Works fully enabled. All defaults are tweaked to prevent
further vulneralabilty to default settings. All other software residing
adheres to a stringent regimen of maintainennce. Disable WMP or not ? WMP 10
    is version number.

Could you clarify what KB you are concerned about? I believe all KBs also
publish work-arounds for system administrators who are unable to update
    their systems.

If you look up that KB on Microsoft.com-
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS06-005.mspx
, under "Vulnerability Details", there is a "Workarounds" section.

You should always refer to Microsoft.com for any specific information you
want to know about any specific KB article. The news organizations rarely
would be able to convey all the pertinent info.
