Shuffle not working in Songs in Library WMP11

    WMP 11 on Vista Prem not allowing shuffle/ random play when I am in Songs in
    the
    library. It will do it if I select an artist or album but not when I have all
    songs up. It did it originally then one day decided to stop. what can I do do
    to remedy this?????
    just seems strange that it refuses to shuffle in this mode
