SID History migration NT4 -> AD2K3 not working

Discussion in 'Active Directory' started by John Del Gallo, Sep 16, 2004.

  1. Hi,

I'm having some trouble with SID history migration from
my old NT4 domain to the new Win2003 AD domain.

I've used the ADMTv2 (active directory migration tool
version 2) to import the accounts and it said that
everything imported successfuly, however, when I try to
access a resource in that still exists in the old domain
which I had access too previously I get an access denied
    error.

I also get denied access to my exchange 5.5 email account
    in the old domain.

Any help would be appreciated as this new network is
meant to be going live in 3 days!!

    Thanks,
    John.

I suggest that you use tools like LDP.exe and ADSIEDIT to verify the
    sidHistory of the migrated acccount.

Read the help files that come with ADMT on the requirements to migrate SID.

  3. I have confirmed that the sIDHistory field is populated with info on the
    migrated accounts (looks like
    0105000000000005150000018F17051EF6310A28D35C8B5BC40E0000 which I assume is
    correct).
The user is still unable to get access to the old servers.

    Any ideas?

    John.
