Site 2 Site - 2 way VPN

Discussion in 'Server Networking' started by news.microsoft.com, Mar 8, 2005.

  1. Hi,

Is it possible to setup a Site 2 site VPN to link the two sites, so that
servers in each site can communicate with each other through the link..

On the mian microsoft site, I've found a doc that details how to setup a
"one way" link into another site, but I need to setup a connection between
the 2 sites where as any server in any site can instigate a connection to a
server in the site (2 way??).

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

    Kind regards,

    Use hardware VPN endpoints.

I'd use either Cisco PIX or Fortigate firewalls.

  4. Thanks for you help Stephen, and Matt

I would prefer a windows rather then hardware solution... I'll work my way
    through that Microsoft Doc.

    Kind regards.

Just a word of warning. If you use Windows RRAS servers, set them up as
dedicated routers if possible. Using DCs as routers can cause all sorts of
    odd problems.
