I volunteered to beta but wasn't accepted - funny I found the issue within a
day of testing - but I'm not good enough for the group that passed it out
the door after a year of beta testing.

I fixed my problem by making everything Vista.
    I tried:
    Vista to XP = slow
    XP to Vista = slow
    Vista to Linux = fast
    Linux to Vista = slow
    2000 to Vista = slow
    Vista to 2000 = slow

Vista to Vista = Fast either way. Except when play music or using

Kinda obvious what Microsoft has done here isn't it.

Same exact issue here. Copying large amounts of files from WHS to Vist
averages about 4-5 Mbps. I have a very fast system with SATA 3.0 drives
Gig NICs, Netgear GS108 Gig switch, and never had problems doing casua
small copies. Only with large amounts of files.

Tried all the things suggested above, and no luck. The thing that di
make a big difference was to disable the Windows Firewall on both end
and Windows Defender on Vista. Suddenly the transfer speed started goin
up, all the way to 47 Mbps, then averaged at about 20. I then starte
another batch copy, and now it is doing about 8.5 Mbps. Totall
frustrating to say the least. Copying in XP is way faster. Mos
definitely a Vista issue that Microsoft needs to address
